Summary

In Forrester's Business Technographics® September 2006 North American And European Enterprise Software Survey, we surveyed 64 government technology decision-makers in North America to discover where they plan to invest their software budgets in 2007. Upgrading email, messaging, and collaboration systems will be the top priority for government CIOs, followed by upgrading enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, customer service, and support systems. Oracle and SAP remain the primary choices across enterprise applications, but Microsoft continues to gain ground in government. Windows Server remains the primary OS for government enterprise applications, but government is also seriously considering open source.
