Summary

While Microsoft SharePoint does not include features available in more advanced document repositories, Hydrasight notes that it does however meet the base criteria for secure and auditable policy-based document control within the majority of Asia Pacific organisations. Nonetheless, we observe that a war of trust has broken out between vendors of traditional document and records management systems and their devotees -- based on the (often false) belief that Microsoft SharePoint is inherently a less secure environment than other document management systems.
