Provider Resourcing Models In SAP Projects

Analysis Of Resourcing Models Across 186 SAP Customers

July 29th, 2011

Summary

Forrester clients investing in SAP solutions frequently ask us questions about how many resources they should expect to need for SAP projects and ongoing SAP support. These SAP shops want to know how many resources their peers use from third-party suppliers, and how many internal resources they should plan to dedicate. To answer this question, Forrester recently analyzed data from 186 SAP clients to understand correlations between project size and staffing requirements. We found that resource requirements do not always scale linearly with a company's SAP user base, larger firms can get most leverage from internal resources, and the complexity of customization and integration strongly affects resource requirements. SVM professionals can use these findings to consider which new delivery models can help them change their strict focus on resources.
