A Tweet or any other status update, by design, is a small packet of information. When collected and put in a business context — particularly complex collaborative situations like IT project management — those small packets of information are what will drive productivity, maturity, and, in time, C-level decisions. Innovative vendors are now experimenting with making this theory a reality. And so far, the response from customers has been overwhelming: "Give this to us now!" Such a strong reaction signals that social media's expanding adoption will bring it to the point of ubiquity in IT management software tools.
