Summary

Over the past six months, there has been a steady increase in the number of terrorist attacks in India. Over time, continued political turmoil may force more firms to implement an "India Plus One" offshore sourcing strategy. However, in the short term, there are a number of actions that sourcing professionals and their IT or BPO counterparts should pursue to mitigate risk — including reviewing suppliers' office and campus security programs, executing a business continuity drill to make sure all the systems work, and moving work to smaller, less politically volatile cities.
