Summary

The US digital home continues to evolve, and Forrester has been tracking this evolution for more than a decade. Year after year, we've witnessed the home becoming more digital and more connected. Today, the vast majority of households have a home network with, on average, more than five devices connected to it, including PCs, tablets, and smartphones. The natural progression of the hyperconnected consumer is to create an even more connected home by trying out smart home devices. However, only a few households have adopted these. This report examines the digital home of today, profiles the early adopters of smart home devices across six use cases, and describes how device makers can drive greater adoption of smart home products.
