Summary

People are looking for their next job on the Web, from part-time retail positions to full-time corporate titles. From January to mid-March 2008, Forrester reviewed the career Web sites of 12 companies using our Web Site Review methodology. We found that, in general, the companies' career Web sites present users with a tedious and unpleasant experience. Certain areas that we evaluated stood out as reoccurring sore spots, most of which can be easily fixed. Still, some companies are providing positive experiences for candidates with engaging and innovative content on their career Web sites. Human resources (HR) business process and applications professionals should establish an optimal candidate experience within their career sites and then apply creativity to engage candidates and attract talent.
