According to Forrester’s Healthcare Benchmark Recontact Survey, 2022, nearly two-thirds of US online adults look to their health insurer, not their healthcare provider, for information about the cost of procedures and how much they have to pay for care. Consumers expect their health insurer to simplify the complexity of healthcare to help them navigate their care journeys. Price transparency tools are one of many technology options that health insurers can deploy to create transparency and predictability around costs and other healthcare information to empower members to make more informed decisions.
