Summary
A relatively constant home PC penetration rate in Europe belies a large increase in multi-PC homes as PCs become a part of most family members' lives. The physical retail channel remains a primary PC purchase path for many European consumers. Windows Vista is making strong inroads into the home PC market, but the years of Windows XP dominance mean that mixed OS households will be with us for years to come — something service and application providers need to keep in mind as they roll out new products.
