Summary
The European converged service delivery (CSD) market lost momentum during the first half of 2007. The overall number of deals containing converged IT and telecom services decreased by more than 50% compared with the second half of 2006. While telecom service providers continued to dominate the provider landscape, demand for IT services components like IT infrastructure services, help desk, and support services outstripped demand for telecom services elements. Germany lost its top position in terms of CSD deal volume and value, but it still represents one of the most mature CSD country markets, along with the UK and the Netherlands. Although the media, entertainment, and leisure industry signed the most deals, the financial services industry continued to lead in terms of overall deal value. Large CSD deals remained the exception; most clients preferred to sign smaller deals for between two and five years.
