But significant business value rides on the capabilities inherent in a strategic approach to an organization's information. The information strategy in turn depends on key components of a mature information architecture practice, such as effective data governance, the establishment of canonical information models, and the development of a metadata strategy. Forrester's research shows that organizations pursuing formal information architecture programs are more likely to have made important advances in these critical areas.
