Forrester surveyed 25 vendors of globally deployed banking platforms on their 2011 deals. Our regional analysis shows that varying levels of vendor success caused fluctuations in regional activity — large ones, in some cases. Broad vendor success focused on fewer geographical regions than in the past, with some traditional global banking platform vendors obtaining more than three-quarters of their 2011 deals in a single region or even a single country. At the same time, the trend toward centers of demand that Forrester first identified a few years ago continues to accelerate, wherein a few countries generate the vast majority of banking platform deals. This development will make banking platform selection more complex in the future.
