Summary

The expansion of automation in the HCM suite and the role of the practitioner have long been symbiotic, but the relationship is shifting. Spurred forward by employee self-service (ESS) and increasingly intelligent tools, organizations will face questions about how to best prepare for a changing HR administration landscape. Building a business case to successfully adopt these automated functions will require staying ahead of the potential impacts to employee engagement and the legacy structures. CHROs and other people leaders will need to evaluate their roadmap for a skills-based HR department and explore alternative support models as practitioner automation expands.
