Generative AI (genAI) is getting a lot of buzz from enterprise resource planning (ERP) vendors, and it has started to dominate the narrative. Most vendors are touting investments, venture funds, partnerships, and early functionality or roadmaps in their customer communications and earnings calls. In stark contrast, customers are still very early on their ERP AI journey. This report describes the current state of genAI in ERP, how to start the journey, and what it means for the future of ERP.
