Summary

Forrester examined 2,292 end user inquiries from enterprise architecture (EA) professionals in 2008. The topics of these inquiries were wide ranging, including questions about information and knowledge management, infrastructure and operations, and application development. Within this group of inquiries, 118 were directly related to the practice of EA and included questions about best practices, architecture strategies, industry trends, and EA tool selection. Nearly one-third of these EA-related questions were about building an EA practice. The questions tended to focus on starting a new EA practice, and many clients were particularly interested in EA artifacts, documentation, methodologies, and frameworks.
