Customer-facing passwordless authentication is all the rage now: New deployments and public website conversions are happening fast. With passwords no longer secure or effective, all customer-facing service providers, including e-commerce/retail portals, banking digital services, and government sites, must protect themselves from phishing and password-related hacking and offer superior security and authentication customer experiences. This report provides an overview of various passwordless modalities, looks at the state of adoption, and offers tangible guidance to security and risk (S&R) professionals on implementing passwordless authentication.
