Summary

After choosing a Learning Management System (LMS), the selection team can breathe a sigh of relief that the hardest work is done. Wrong! A strong LMS implementation team is now critical to ensure the business impact expected of the LMS investment. The executive champion must select people with the right mix of technical, business, learning process, and analysis skills to form the LMS governance board and manage the implementation and rollout. More than 50% of LMS implementations either fail or cost much more than originally planned because the right people were not in place to make decisions on learning strategy, content, data migrations, database integration, and process changes and oversee the implementation process. Avoid running the risk of failure. Find the correct people to lead this phase and make critical project decisions during your LMS implementation.
