The technology architect (aka infrastructure or platform architect) is an IT professional responsible for overseeing their organization’s technology or platform strategy. This includes developing technology adoption plans, designing infrastructure for applications, and consulting on service, availability, and resilience. They also partner on application architecture and deployment and often act as a consultant to their organization on emerging technology, so they need to stay up to date on the latest trends and issues.
