Summary
The compulsory work-from-home experiment that began in early 2020 worked well for security leaders. It opened access to talent without geographic restrictions, helping alleviate the staffing shortage, and provided flexibility when adopting anywhere work. According to Forrester’s Security Survey, 2022, the share of security decision-makers working out of their corporate headquarters dropped from 49% before the pandemic to 21% during it. Work from home increased by more than tenfold, from 2% to 30%, in the same timeframe. Cybersecurity remains a scorching hot job market, even as a recession looms, and security decision-makers continue to resist giving in to presenteeism — at least for now.
