The future mobile workplace will become divided into three stacks according to individual, business unit, and overall business infrastructure requirements. To be effective in this new environment, sourcing professionals need to redefine their delivery framework because "locking down" unauthorized devices or popular services without offering alternatives is becoming less of an option. This report maps out the new sourcing landscape for the mobile workplace, highlighting areas for strategic sourcing versus the orchestration of decentralized purchases. We also define the key criteria for vendor selections that will "build the river bed" in which the second wave of mobile workplace services can flow.
