Each year, Forrester surveys security decision-makers globally to learn about their security programs, priorities, and challenges. Of the leading challenges that IT decision-makers at enterprises faced in 2023, two were unchanged from 2022: the complexity of the IT environment and keeping up with evolving threats. Issues with vulnerability strategy, IT asset visibility, and false-positive detections comprised the new entries to the top five responses. These challenges underscore the need for security leaders to grapple with their complex IT environments to improve operational efficiency and defend their security programs from both internal and external attacks.
