March 30th, 2020

Summary

In effort to keep employees safe and stem the spread of COVID-19, 58% of US employers have asked employees to work from home more than usual while almost two-thirds have restricted or cancelled face-to-face meetings and business travel. As infections began to spike in early to mid-March, US employers raced to implement their pandemic plans and risk mitigation efforts. Compared to the two weeks prior, during March 17 to March 19, 63% of employees agreed their company has a plan to tackle coronavirus risk — a 20% increase. Some employers were proactive in February, testing work from home capabilities, pulling out of large events, and banning nonessential travel ahead of CDC and State Department guidance.
