Successful B2B products must appeal to both buyers and users. A user persona is an aggregation of individuals with similar characteristics related to their usage behavior. Whether or not a user is involved in the purchase decision process, a user persona needs to be created to capture information about usage behavior. The Forrester User Persona Framework is a tool for defining users’ functional, emotive, and usage attributes. Product management should leverage user persona insight to influence product concepts, requirements, capabilities, and design. In this report, we describe the types of information required to build user personas.
