Global long-term evolution (LTE) deployments for cellular networks have mostly been on frequency-division duplexing (FDD) to date. An alternative technology, time-division long-term evolution (TD-LTE), is finding its footing globally, with major Asia Pacific countries such as China, Japan, and India leading the charge. This report investigates why TD-LTE deployments are flourishing across Asia Pacific and forecasts the number of TD-LTE subscribers and direct service revenues in Asia Pacific, broken out by key countries, from 2012 to 2018.
