Low-code platform vendors are embracing AI to further enhance and accelerate the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC). This will increase adoption by citizen developers, fuel an explosion of new and custom components, make governance more effective, enable dynamic end-user experiences, and dramatically alter the creative act of software analysis and design. While there are many short-term caveats, in the long term this fusion will lead to a new breed of platform: not for bottom-up development through primitives, but for AI-powered and increasingly top-down application generation.
