How German Employees Feel About COVID-19: A PandemicEX Survey Update

Jun 03, 2020

Summary

Business leaders in Germany should use our PandemicEX data to monitor German workers’ challenges in working from home and their fears about returning to work as the lockdown is lifted. While German employees show increasing confidence in their employers and the government, they are becoming more concerned about the impact of COVID-19 as the crisis continues. After two months of working from home and coping with a global pandemic, German employees are finding it more difficult to stay productive and balance their family and work responsibilities. The majority of German employees insist that returning to offices will require putting additional protective procedures and equipment in place, while a third are afraid they will be required to return to their offices before it is safe. German employees report more furloughs and fewer layoffs than in the other European countries we surveyed. They also continue to be less fearful about the risks of exposure to the virus than their European counterparts.
