Summary

The pandemic recession has revamped technology and services spending — down for some categories and up for others. This story highlights insights from the Forrester Analytics Business Technographics® Priorities And Journey COVID-19 Recontact Survey, 2020, to help services firms during the crisis. The pandemic’s impact on services spending depends on whether enterprises and business units are in survival, adaptive, or growth mode. Those in survival mode are slashing tech budgets, while those in growth mode are actually increasing their spend — with cloud providers seeing the most uplift. Our survey of 576 decision makers at North America and European enterprises revealed that their top five business priorities remain unaffected by the pandemic, but how they’re moving forward with planned tech investments varies widely. To survive the pandemic recession, services firms must double-down on existing clients and value alignment.
