Mack McGee is the Chief Marketing Officer of CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield (CareFirst), one of the nation’s largest not-for-profit healthcare organizations offering a comprehensive portfolio of health insurance products through its affiliates and subsidiaries and administrative services to 3.5 million individuals and employers in Maryland, the District of Columbia and Northern Virginia.
Mack is passionate about aligning a company’s mission and core values to the experience they provide customers and communities through thoughtful and intentional communications, further nurturing relationships and overall support of the individuals and communities an organization serves.
He is responsible for leading CareFirst’s marketing functions, including communications, brand & influence, advertising, sponsorships, public and media relations, community engagement and events, and customer experience and insights.
Mack has over 20 years of industry experience helping businesses define their voice and value, bridging the gap between brand, customer experience, sales and marketing to drive new and meaningful growth for organizations.
Prior to joining CareFirst, Mack served as Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for a management consulting and accounting firm, SC&H Group. In his role, he was responsible for revamping the firm’s brand strategy, website and online presence and customer relationship management platform. Before joining SC&H Group, Mack was the Executive Vice President and Principal for an award-winning, Baltimore-based creative agency. He was instrumental in the agency’s growth, driving internal leadership development and overseeing client experience for companies in varying industries, ranging in size from middle-market to enterprise.
Mack is passionate about serving the community, a commitment CareFirst shares through its not-for-profit mission. For more than a decade, he has coached Special Olympics teams in Maryland. Today, he serves on the Board of Directors of the Ulman Foundation, helping them develop corporate partnerships, raise funds and drive awareness. Mack also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Irvine Nature Center, the largest independent non-profit nature center in the Maryland region, and on the Board of Directors for Make a Wish Mid-Atlantic, Inc.
Mack earned his bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Maryland College Park.
