The global market for IT services and outsourcing is in the midst of a fundamental transformation. While overall services revenues for 2009 are set to decline, the vendor landscape has already started to change rapidly. We have seen two major acquisitions — Dell acquiring Perot Systems, and Xerox acquiring ACS — which indicates that nontraditional services players may well drive future consolidation. New cloud services have dominated services coming to market, while go-to-market activities have seen the opening of significant new delivery and innovation centers, which reflects the continuing importance of innovation even during broader economic woes.
