Summary

Industry analysts cite vendor Web sites as a leading source of information, but online content isn't enough. They also depend on contact with analyst relations (AR) professionals. It's astonishing, then, that most tech industry home pages have no easy link to AR contact information — even the search box sometimes can't find it. AR should ensure that it gets the same visibility via links as investors, partners, and press. A simple list of names, responsibilities, phone numbers, and mail-to links is a good start in raising the level of engagement. Scan the inbox frequently and report on the metrics: They make another good measure of your effectiveness in reaching the analyst community.
