On April 28, 2015, Extreme Networks announced its new software-defined networking (SDN) capabilities and developer support solution. While vendors have been releasing similar announcements about SDN enhancements and customers using a vendor's solutions, Extreme Networks' SDN solution goes beyond those. Its new solution extends SDN capabilities typically found in the data center to the rest of the network.
