Summary

Organizations are beginning to roll out the Information Workplace (IW) — a cohesive environment that reduces the need to "manually" integrate disparate repositories and applications with the ALT + TAB keys. The IW may have its roots in a collaboration system, or in a specific business process such as case management. But for many organizations, a well-functioning corporate intranet offers a strong foundation on which to build the IW. Content and collaboration professionals can evaluate the suitability of their intranet to support an Information Workplace initiative.
