Summary

During spring 2008, Forrester interacted with the CIOs and CTOs of leading Indian firms such as Asian Paints, ICICI Bank, ITC, Larsen & Toubro, Suzlon, Tata Motors, and TCS to learn how they are driving business innovation within their organizations. Our goal was to benchmark their innovation excellence against their US and European peers. Our study of these Indian organizations revealed that Indian CIOs, who view themselves and act as chief innovation officers, enjoy a stellar track record of rapidly transforming tech inventions into business value. How come? Indian CIOs proactively engage business leaders in identifying and capturing new market opportunities using cutting-edge technologies. And rather than reinventing the technology wheel in-house, Indian CIOs cast a wider net for IT innovation by sourcing promising ideas and inventions from a global Innovation Network of customers, partners, and tech providers.
