Summary

Forrester's security and risk (S&R) team fields hundreds of inquiries every month. We use these inquiries as a barometer to track client challenges and to gauge client interest in the various topics we cover; this is a key source of input as we plan our future research agenda. Of the 1,369 enterprise inquiries we fielded during this period, we found that the most prevalent inquiries related to identity and access management (30%); security architecture and operations (26%); and governance, risk, and compliance (20%). Throughout 2012, inquiries regarding cloud, mobile, and social were also common, but they were frequently asked in the context of other security topics, such as how requirements for mobile device support will affect network security architecture. Many clients ask us, "What are my peers doing?" As we sift through the 2012 inquiries, we're sharing this data so that you can see exactly what's keeping your peers up at night and what they're doing about it.
