Summary

According to respondents from Forrester's Business Technographics® September 2006 North American And European Enterprise Software Survey, US government CIOs are shifting their focus to increasing their investment in new software initiatives and projects as they plan to spend less of their software budget on operations and maintenance in 2007 as compared with 2006. Government managers' attitudes suggest that even with the shifting focus, a majority of the software budget will remain targeted on keeping what they already have running and on addressing critical issues like application integration and security.
