Summary

Many sourcing and vendor management organizations (SVMOs) are delivering effectively against their core mandate today, despite resource constraints. However, most SVM professionals are mapping their labor or skills shortages against a core set of roles and responsibilities. But Forrester believes that to stay relevant and become more strategic, those roles and responsibilities are changing due to technology and spending trends. SVM must now look to a new scope of responsibilities in order to plan and build out the appropriate skills.
