How And Why Customers Choose Public Cloud Platforms

All of the application development and delivery (AD&D) leaders that we interviewed for "The Forrester WaveTM: Enterprise Public Cloud Platforms, Q2 2013" told us that they made the move to public cloud platforms to accelerate software delivery. But delivery speed was only the trigger that set off the movement to public clouds; each of them chose from among the 14 platforms we evaluated to obtain a broader set of benefits and satisfy particular requirements. All of the leaders that we interviewed keyed the cloud platform choice to their major developer personas and the kinds of applications they build, and all learned important lessons about the steps required to achieve strategic use of public cloud platforms. This report presents the experiences of these public cloud pioneers to help other AD&D professionals smooth their own journey to public cloud platforms.
