Summary
2008 will see the concepts underpinning enterprise content management (ECM) continue to evolve towards EC3M (enterprise content, collaboration, and communications management). This will be driven by technology evolution, the (generally) buoyant Asia Pacific economy, and continuing market consolidation. In addition, an increasing demand for content convergence and mobile applications will fuel further growth in an effort to satisfy the enhanced productivity and staff attraction/retention goals of Asia Pacific organisations. A primary driver will be an increased perception of pressure to attract and support "Gen-i" as well as compliance across content and communication channels and issues surrounding information overload. A lack of organisational maturity in information asset management however will temper adoption through at least 2010.
