Infrastructure Teams Plan To Invest In Skill Development To Address The Tech Skill Gap

Traditional IT operations struggle to keep up with the rapidly evolving technology teams. Forrester’s Infrastructure Survey, 2024, found that more than a third of enterprise infrastructure hardware decision-makers indicated technology as the most common skill gap. To keep up with the evolving tech, 50% of respondents said that their organizations were investing in the next 12 months in cloud operations skills; 45%, in cloud architecture skills; 42%, in administration skills for core technologies; and 40%, in advanced edge networking and edge/IoT operations skills. This data snapshot highlights the widening technology skill gap and specific skills that enterprise infrastructure teams are investing in to keep up.
