Summary

US online adults are split on how often they prefer retailers to tailor their site search results. Twenty-one percent prefer instantly tailored search results from their retailers, while 29% prefer them often but not instantly. And 25% of US online adults never want retailers to tailor their results at all. But generations differ in their expectations: 38% of Millennials preferred instantly tailored results, whereas 41% of Baby Boomers never want their search results tailored. Retailers should use their in-session customer data and aim their instantly tailored commerce search efforts to their Millennial customers specifically. This is a snapshot of US online adult preferences for instantly tailored search results.
