Summary

Forrester's survey data shows that both business and information architecture practices are currently far less mature than enterprise architecture (EA) teams' technology and application architecture efforts. Case studies are beginning to emerge that show that business architecture (BA) has value in improving operational efficiency and can even play an important role in strategic transformations. But information architecture (IA) practices continue to struggle to show positive business impact. This report examines Forrester's latest survey data showing the state of BA-IA linkage and makes a case for including IA information in BA artifacts.
