Italian Consumers Are Adopting New Digital Shopping Behaviors During The COVID-19 Pandemic

Summary

A whopping 69% of Italian consumers agree they are spending more time online than they ever have before. Sixty-nine percent of Italian consumers have cut back on all necessary spending. Consumer spending is shifting online; 39% say they are spending more online, and 57% say they are buying more from online-only retailers. Lockdown has forced Italian consumers to embrace eCommerce. We expect this to continue post-pandemic, as 24% of Italians agree they will spend much more online in the future. Digital payments are also thriving, and more consumers are using contactless, in-store payments to avoid touching screens and hardware.
