Summary

Mobile payments are all the rage again. The pandemic drove more consumers to use digital wallets for e-commerce and contactless in-person payments, and in September 2021, a US federal court ruled that Apple had to allow third-party payments in its App Store to give developers more control (and consumers more choice). Forrester surveyed consumers to understand the impact of this court decision and how they make app purchases on mobile devices. In this report, we examine this data and make predictions about their future payments behavior.
