Commerce solutions and order management systems (OMS) are necessary to run a successful digital business. For now, OMS adoption narrowly trails commerce solution adoption. Rather than adopting a modern, packaged OMS, some businesses still build this functionality in-house. But by doing so, these firms take on the mantle of software business, and for many, that will stretch skills, budget, and other resources.
