ZA International-backed ZA Bank was the first of eight virtual banks to launch in Hong Kong. The Z and A represent “end-to-end” (in terms of alphabetical order), symbolizing the bank’s mission to redefine customer journeys via technology, from the front end to back end and from product development to service processes. The bank acquired more than 400,000 customers in the 18 months after launch and achieved some early goals in its quest to become the number one virtual bank in Hong Kong.
