One of four solution types in the Forrester Solutions Model, a service or product is a standalone offering that solves a business issue or customer need but isn’t integrated with other products or services. B2B services can be delivered using a variety of methods, ranging from offerings that are standardized, marketed, and sold like standalone products to highly customized professional services that require individual tailoring. In this report, we define five B2B service categories, best practices for developing them, and the pitfalls to avoid.
