Summary

More than 81% of tech strategists report that innovation is important or very important for their job responsibilities. Unfortunately, most tech vendors prioritize product and service innovation over novel business models and creative partnerships. By taking such a narrow, tactical view of innovation, tech strategists risk foregoing the long-term opportunities arising in the new global tech economy, where the US is no longer the dominant player. Globally minded strategists will proactively shift their innovation focus away from product/service innovation and instead attempt to radically revamp their business models, forge vibrant local ecosystems, and de-Westernize their supply chain governance model.
