As server hardware becomes an increasingly commoditized and standardized element of a data center environment, the need for comprehensive management agents for performance monitoring seems to stagnate — as witnessed by a relatively lackluster market growth rate. Successful products in this market have to be simple, easy on resource consumption, and able to manage the new virtualized environment.
