Manufacturing firms use energy, raw materials, and equipment to create products, consuming finite resources and emitting greenhouse gases (GHG) in the process. Sustainability is both rife with challenges and ripe with opportunities. In this report, we examine results from Forrester’s Q4 2022 Global Environmental Sustainability IT Buying Survey to assess the current state of environmental sustainability. Sustainability leaders in manufacturing firms can use these insights to benchmark their metrics, goals, and challenges and better understand the state of their sustainability initiatives.
