Credit cards and debit cards continue to be the most popular payment method for online purchases in the UK. With the exception of PayPal, most Net users have neither heard of nor use the numerous alternative online payment methods. But although most online shoppers say they prefer to use credit cards and debit cards when shopping online, a minority would prefer to pay with PayPal. Online merchants in the UK should consider accepting alternative payment systems, particularly PayPal.
